Outdoor Adventure Series Winter/Spring

The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is excited to offer a series of free outdoor adventure activities for the entire family. Activities include hiking, biking, fishing and camping .


The Outdoor Adventure Series activities for summer/fall will include:


Date: Saturday, July 8, 2017: from 9 a.m. to Noon.: Kayaking Clinic to be help at Fun Forest Park Pool, located at 900 N. Glenwood. Participants will learn basic kayaking skills and techniques. Swim attire required. Ages 12 and older.

Cost: $20 per person

Date: Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Hunter Safety Education and Extravaganza at Glass Recreation Center, located at 501 W. 32nd St. Vendors will be on hand to discus hunter safety equipment and knowledge will be given in bow safety, gun and all other aspects of hunting in Texas. Children must be accompanied by adult. 

Cost: $15 per person

Date: Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017  from 9 a.m. to Noon: Family Fun Fishing Day to be held at Woldert Park Pond, located at 501 W. 32nd St. Fish with the entire family using the bait of your choice. Pre- registration not required. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Cost: $10 per family up to six people.
