Tyler Public Library hosts guitar lessons from Guitar Center
As part of their 2018 Summer Reading Program, the Tyler Public Library is partnering with Guitar Center of Tyler to host five beginner guitar lessons throughout the summer. Beginning May 31 at 6 p.m., guitar lessons will be offered in the Taylor Auditorium and continue for every Thursday in the month of June. 12 students will work with the local Guitar Center’s manager as he teaches them the basics of guitar playing, ending with a small concert for friends and family.
The lessons coincide with this year’s Summer Reading Program theme, “Libraries Rock!,” which seeks to encourage love for both the arts and reading.
Guitars will not be provided; students must bring their own. Anyone interested should see the Information Desk at the Tyler Public Library to sign-up. The lessons are limited to 12 students and are first come, first serve.
The Library is located at 201 S. College Ave. in Downtown Tyler. For more information about the Summer Reading Program and its offerings, contact the Tyler Public Library by phone at (903) 593-7323  or go online to
